Being about the tragic lives of African American black families who encounter traumatic circumstances, novel The Bluest Eye especially focuses on unbearable life a little girl, Pecola. horrible atmosphere can be seen from beginning pages. It is heart-wrenching to see pages that young girl raped by her father; consequently, she pregnant. Pecola so severely affected events such as racial discrimination, internalized ugliness being black, whiteness accepted beauty standard, and sexual abuse father in end, goes mad hallucinates dream friend seeing blue eyes. As child, associates blackness with burden considers having eyes would solution all sufferings. Moreover, other male female characters Frieda, Claudia, Cholly, Darleine, Paulina are racism, abuse, humiliation society.
